A member of the Dog Writers Association of America, her work has appeared in local, regional, and national publications, including Top Tips from Top Trainers, published by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She has been interviewed nationally and internationally on a variety of dog-related topics. Dawn is the author of Terrier-Centric Dog Training: From Tenacious to Tremendous and From Birdbrained to Brilliant: Teaching the Sporting Dog to Be a Great Companion, both published by Dogwise Publications. Her third book, From Obsessive to Outstanding: Teaching the Herding Dog to be a Great Companion, is due out in early 2015. Dawn is an advocate for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and service dogs. She has lectured at medical schools and disabled veterans' conferences about the ADA, the rights and responsibilities of service dog owners, and service dog training. She also worked as a behavioral consultant for a national dog food company.
Dawn has successfully competed with dogs from the herding, non-sporting, sporting, and terrier groups in a wide range of activities, including conformation, obedience, rally obedience, agility, tracking, scent work, earthdog testing, musical freestyle, and weight pulling. Several of her dogs have been nationally ranked in their respective sports. Her dogs regularly appear in local and national print and video productions and two of her dogs are therapy dogs who assist in school reading programs. Oui, oui, toutes les méthodes proposées sont basées sur le renforcement positif.Selon vous, ce livre est à avoir absolument ou à éviter?
Bon si on est un peu expérimenté sur le sujet, on risque de rester sur sa faim.
Je connaissais déjà la plupart des techniques qu'elle propose, je les ai apprises en club.
Y a deux ou trois techniques vraiment sympa cela dit.
J'ai surtout aimé le chapitre "Pourquoi mon terrier n'agit pas comme le retriever du voisin ?"
Entre "savoir" certaines choses et les lire noir sur blanc sur du papier, y a un petit monde.
Bref sympa à lire mais pas indispensable.
